New work  - Chris Brammall Arts

I was honoured to recently get an opportunity to take a series of photographs at the workshop of Ulverston based Chris Brammall Arts.  It was amazing to see the craftsmen producing works of art using heavy duty steel and brass, just like in any fabrication workshop, but with infinitely more finesse and attention to detail.

I am moving towards taking more people and work based photographs.  If you have something you would like me to photograph, please let me know.

Black & White photo - Sept 22

I've been published in Black + White Photography magazine - again!

I’m really happy to say that I’ve had another image from my “Flight of the Gods” series printed in Black + White Photography magazine, in issue No. 269.  I am starting to submit work more regularly to a number of places, so I’m confident there will be more good news to come soon.

Black+White Photo Mag

I've been published in Black + White Photography magazine

I'm proud and excited to be able to say that the image below from my "Flight of the Gods" series was printed in issue No. 266 of Black + White Photography.  I've been reading this magazine since its early days, so it's a great feeling to have one of my photographs featured in it.

North Wales - a new project

I know this is my first post for a while, but I’m feeling fired up and excited to be working on a new project.

Since the beginning of the year I’ve traveled to North Wales and The Wirral several times and am starting to put together an interesting set of images that I will continue to add to.  These are a couple to start with, the gas works on the Point of Ayr and a stranded tree trunk on the beach near Prestatyn.

Kae Tempest - Keep moving, don't move

I’ve just received a copy of Kae Tempest’s “The book of Traps & Lessons”.  I know it came out in 2019 so I’m a little late to the party, but it’s blown me away.  I guess it’s a bit of a cliche but she really is a voice that expresses how so many of us feel about the way the world is at the moment.

The second track, “Keep moving, don’t move” really spoke to me.  The words, their poetry and the way they work with the music, breaks my heart and uplifts me at the same time.

I can’t wait for her new album “This Line is a Curve” that I think is due to be released in a couple of months.
